Celebrate New Years Eve with Serpas !
South Louisiana native and Executive Chef Scott Serpas has a flair for carving out a style all his own, and his culinary charisma has garnered him the attention of diners and critics alike, including the prestigious James Beard Foundation, Gourmet and Food & Wine. Now an expatriated Atlantan, Serpas has reinvented himself as part of the local culinary scene by embarking on his first independent restaurant venture. His eponymous restaurant, Serpas, is located in what was once a cotton storage facility Atlanta’s historic Old Fourth Ward.
Best described as “True Food,” the innovative American dishes encompass fresh ingredients that emit comforting flavors handcrafted by Scott Serpas. Serpas is located in a historical cotton storage factory built in the 1900s overlooking Auburn Avenue. To maintain building’s fundamental spirit, Scott Serpas and his wife, Dawn, have preserved several of the building’s original elements to ensure the look is raw and holds true to the original rustic form. Unique design elements include original exposed red brick walls, an expansive wall mural of a cotton blossom that pays homage to the building’s heritage, custom-created oyster countertop bar speckled with oyster shells from Louisiana, antique rustic orange bottles illuminated on steel shelves above the bar and replicas of latex glove hand molds mounted on the walls outside the restrooms. A spacious patio offers guests an alfresco escape.

In recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Serpas True Food in the Old Fourth Ward will roll out the pink carpet as they host the first Fashion Plates event to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. guests will experience a four-course brunch of comfort cuisine from Executive Chef/Owner Scott Serpas complete with endless mimosas. The brunch will begin with New Orleans Beignets with confectioners’ sugar followed by a Butter Lettuce Salad with green goddess dressing and artichoke chips. The meal will progress with a choice of rich Shrimp Butternut or Vegetarian Risotto. Dessert will be a seasonal Apple and Pear Strudel with cranberry relish.
Diners will also view an informal runway show of must-have fall and winter fashions from local boutiques Meringue and The Fickle Manor and view the latest jewelry from Mickey Lynn and Drea James Designs.
